Who We Are

Crown & Sterling is a private dealer in fine watches, jewellery, and rare collectables, based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. For the purposes of data protection law, we are the data controller. If you have any questions about how we handle your personal information, please contact us via the contact page.

What Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including your name, email address, and telephone number when you submit an enquiry, and any additional details you include in your message.

We also collect certain technical information automatically when you visit the site, including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. This is standard web server logging and is not used to identify you personally.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry, manage any ongoing business relationship, and keep records of transactions where we are legally required to do so.

We do not use your information for unsolicited marketing. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties except where necessary to complete a transaction you have requested, or where required by law.

Legal Basis for Processing

Legitimate interests — Responding to your enquiry and managing our client relationships.

Legal obligation — Retaining records as required under applicable law, including anti-money laundering regulations which apply to certain high-value goods transactions.

Contract — Where we have entered into an agreement with you.

How Long We Keep Your Data

We retain enquiry data for 12 months from last contact unless an ongoing business relationship is established, in which case we retain it for the duration of that relationship and for 6 years thereafter.

Transaction records required for anti-money laundering compliance are retained for 5 years from the date of the transaction.

Your Rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention obligations), object to processing based on legitimate interests, and lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us via the contact page.
